Prologue: Station

Rin: Oh, there you are! Over here, over here! Hurry up! Hanayo, Maki, you too!

Maki: There's no need to be in a rush. We've still got plenty of time before we're supposed to meet. And as for you, you don't need to run for real.

Hanayo: Rin, you've really been looking forward to this school tour rehearsal, haven't you?

Honoka: Hey, everyone! Good morning! And thank you for coming so early, too!

Eli: Good morning! I'm so glad we have you to support us by playing the role of the visitor.

Umi: This is the Idol Study Club's rehearsal for giving tours of the school and surrounding area, so please treat it like you're a real visitor to the school.

Kotori: Tee-hee! Us giving a tour of the school and town is a nice change of pace. I can't wait to get started.

Nozomi: If you've got any questions, don't be shy! Even the simplest things will help us be more prepared for the real deal.

Nico: If it's school idol-related, I'll personally give us in-depth lecture! You should count your blessings.

Rin: And if you need directions, I'm your girl. Now let's hit the town!

Hanayo: W-Wait a second. We still haven't decided what route we're going to follow.

Maki: That's right. We picked out locations, but never settled on what order to visit them in.

Honoka: Heh, heh, heh. I thought this might happen! Last night, Kotori, Umi, and I came up with a plan.

Umi: We thought it best to make the main stops places that we usually go before and after school, using the roads we'd normally take.

Kotori: Then we drew up a simple map! Take a look.

Nozomi: Sounds like a good plan. Lucky for us that you three are so well-prepared!

Honoka: *Giggle* Well, we've got a special guest joining us today, so we worked extra hard. It's our way of thanking you for playing the visitor for us.

Umi: Coming up with the list of stops together was rather fun, too.

Kotori: There are so many wonderful places near Otonokizaka, we had trouble narrowing it down.

Rin: This looks like a great plan! Now I'm really fired up! Let's roll!

Nico: Wait, wait! If we're going to Akihabara, we're forgetting something crucial.

Eli: I don't think we've forgotten anything...

Maki: We haven't. We have a comprehensive list of places to visit that we've all agreed upon.

Hanayo: You aren't thinking of a... detour, are you? You said something about a school idol lecture...

Nico: I'm glad you were paying attention, Hanayo! That's exactly right. Touring school idol shops and touching on the latest news is crucial, no?

Nozomi: Nico's got a point. We ARE the Idol Study Club, after all. What'cha think, Eli?

Eli: Give that the tour's supposed to be showing people the school and local area, maybe Nico's plan would be better when we tell people about our club?

Umi: I agree with Eli. We would be able to make plenty of time for either activity that way.

Kotori: You're right. In fact, we should all go once our school tour rehearsal's done. Then you can get your shopping done, Nico.

Nico: I-I wasn't using it as an excuse to go shopping! I... I mean, I might get a few things when we go, but...

Honoka: That settles it. Let's go, girls! Remember. we're gonna take you all around the Otonokizaka local area, so stick close to us!

Story 1: UTX

Eli: It's coming into view now. That tall building there is UTX High School.

Hanayo: It's a very elite school. Its students include the top-tier school idols and former Love Live! Champions, A-RISE!

Nico: The trio of Tsubasa Kira, Erena Todo, and Anju Yuki. Their overpowering singing and performance skills are truly must-see shows!

Kotori: They have an area for live shows inside the school. A-RISE regularly peforms here.

Honoka: I wonder if they're doing a show now? I wouldn't mind going to see if they are...

Umi: Honoka. that would turn this into a tour of UTX.

Rin: But it's so close to Otonokizaka! It'd be a blast if we could network with them a little more.

Maki: That would certainly be mutually beneficial for both schools.

Nozomi: Anyways, it's a huge building, isn't it? It definitely feels like the kinda place top level school idols would attend.

Hanayo: When I found out it was actually a school, my jaw hit the floor. It's such a cool place...

Nico: The facility uses the latest technology, including tracking student attendance with smart cards. Let the galaxy's top idol, Nico, give you the rundown!

Honoka: Look! That monitor just came on! Maybe they-re about to air a live show!

Kotori: This huge monitor broadcasts all kinds of content.

Umi: Honoka, wasn't it right here that you saw a school idol for the first time?

Rin: Hmm? The monitor's on, but nothing's playing.

Eli: It's still early in the morning. They wouldn't be airing a live show at this hour.

Maki: Can we go now? Nico, Hanayo, you two can watch A-RISE shows in the club room if you want to see them that badly.

Nozomi: Exactly. Remember, this is supposed to be a rehearsal for giving people tours of OUR school!

Nico: Geez, do I have to spell everything out? It's important to know about other school idols in the local area, too!

Hanayo: Watching the monitor here might be the easiest way for people to learn about A-RISE!

Honoka: Seeing A-RISE perform on this huge screen never gets old.

Rin: The sound system will blow you away, too. And the picture's so hi-def, it's like being there in person!

Umi: A-RISE's dancing is so crisp, staying here until they came on the screen would be worth the wait.

Kotori: I wish we had time to do that while we were giving the real tour.

Eli: Huh? Nozomi, what'd you take out your tarot cards for?

Nozomi: I'm trying to predict if A-RISE is going to show up on the big screen... The Wheel of Fortune, in the upright position!

Maki: So, umm... You're talking about fate, then? Basically...

Nico: Ohhhhhhh...!

Together: It's A-RISE!

Story 2: Gamers

Kotori: This area tends to be very busy, so we come here to hand out flyers!

Eli: It’s quiet in the morning before the stores are open, but come lunchtime and it’ll be bustling like you wouldn’t believe!

Honoka: Umi distributed flyers for the first time right here, if I remember right.

Umi: *Groan* I’d rather you not remember at all. It was mortifying.

Hanayo: I remember getting the flyer for the first live show at the freshmen welcome party. My heart was pounding with excitement.

Nozomi: Well, by the time the first live show rolled around, you had no trouble handing them out, so it must’ve worked, no?

Rin: Sometimes I can’t tell whether Umi’s bashful or bold.

Maki: She’s definitely bashful during the run-up, but when showtime rolls around, she’ll do things like throw in some very bold choreography ad-lib!

Nico: I love Umi’s cool side is juxtaposed with her playful side!

Nozomi: You can be a walking juxtaposition sometimes, Nico.

Nico: I’m everyone’s favorite idol. That means there’re no conflicts at all when it comes to me!

Hanayo: What a perfect retort… The galaxy’s top idol strikes back!

Honoka: I want everyone we take on a tour to learn all about µ's.

Kotori: What if we introduce ourselves while we’re walking between stops?

Eli: That’s a good idea. We’ll have quite a bit of time to talk while we’re on the move. Would you mind if we told you a little about ourselves?

Rin: I think it’d be great if we all introduced each other, too!

Maki: We might even learn something new about one another. I think it’s a great idea. …Umi, what are you doing over there!

Umi: Oops! I saw a capsule toy machine with some really nostalgic toys, and got distracted…

Honoka: Sometimes Umi runs off and hides when she gets nervous or embarrassed.

Hanayo: Like… if she were nervous about giving a tour of the school?

Umi: W-Well… Our substitute visitor’s someone we all know very well, so I’ll be fine. Now on to the next stop!

Kotori: Umi, you’re marching like you’re in a band.

Eli: *Chuckle* We need to get her used to this whole tour guide job.

Nozomi: I think Umi’ll be surprisingly effective when it’s time for the real thing.

Nico: She might even end up suggesting that we give the tour in our school idol costumes!

Rin: Oh, that could actually be awesome! Then we’d definitely stand out in a crowd, almost like a landmark!

Maki: I don’t think we want to stand out TOO much… But it’d probably be fine if we changed when we gave the tour of the school grounds.

Kotori: All right, then I’ll whip us up some costumes especially for the in-school part of the tour. *Giggle* I’d love for there to be a few surprises!

Honoka: I say we hold a µ's live show for the people touring the school! Let’s start planning right now!

Nozomi: You heard her, Eli.

Eli: I think it’s a wonderful idea. I’ll propose it to the school chairwoman.

Honoka: Hooray! After all, there’s no faster way to learn what µ's is all about than seeing us perform live!

Story 3: Kanda Shrine

Eli: We come to Kanda Shrine to pray for every event.

Honoka: There are even wish plaques wishing for our success hung up here.

Kotori: Words can’t describe how happy it makes me to see them. Coming here always gives me a boost.

Maki: I wouldn’t exactly call it the power of prayer, but coming here does have a mysterious way of making me feel calm.

Umi: It’s been one of our practice spots since it was just Honoka, Kotori, and me. It’s a place very close to our hearts.

Nico: Since it’s a shrine to the patron deity of Akihabara, it gets lots of local traffic.

Rin: And Nozomi looks totally awesome when she’s here working!

Hanayo: Nozomi’s the epitome of a shrine maiden… Huh?

Rin: What is it, Hanayo?

Eli: I just realized Nozomi’s gone… I swear she was here just a second ago.

Nozomi: I’m back!

Nico: Nozomi! That outfit!

Nozomi: I figured that when we give a tour of this place, I needed to be responsible, so I went and changed. I’m especially glad YOU got to see it!

Hanayo: Ahh, Nozomi, you really do make the perfect shrine maiden… You look great!

Honoka: You should wear that when we do this for real! I bet the visitors would love it. Oh, and what if Kotori dresses like a maid!

Kotori: I-I think my maid costume would give everything a slightly different meaning…

Maki: A maid giving a tour of Akihabara… That would definitely turn a lot of heads.

Umi: It might give our school a bit of exposure… I think we’d do well to at least consider the idea.

Kotori: Wh-Whaaaaaaaaaat?! Uhh… Err… Hey, since we’re here, we should all write a wish plaque and hang them up!

Honoka: Oh, I wanna write one! Let’s all wish for something!

Nozomi: I thought you’d say that. I brought ten! One for each of us. Here’s yours!

Eli: Thanks, Nozomi. It’s been a long time since we all hung wish plaques together like this.

Rin: Hmm, what should I wish for? Hanayo, do you know what you’re gonna write?

Hanayo: Huh? Me? I guess I’ll wish for our school tour to go well…

Nico: Done! I’m gonna go hang mine up!

Maki: No need to be in a rush, Nico.

Umi: Maybe she’s got a wish she wants answered as quickly as possible?

Honoka: Knowing Nico, it’s a wish for µ's. I think I’ll write a wish for us, too!

Kotori: Huh? You wrote a wish for µ's, too? Tee-hee! Then we’ll have to buckle down and work as hard as we can so your wishes are granted!

Story 4: Hill to Kanda Shrine

Rin: Almost there, everyone! Don’t stop now!

Maki: Can you please stop rushing ahead alone? This isn’t a practice…

Honoka: My body starts moving on its own whenever I come here. Maybe it’s because I do so much running here?

Kotori: Look like we dragged you along for the ride, huh? Are you okay?

Eli: You’ve got an impressive amount of stamina. It’s probably because you attend so many of our practices, huh?

Umi: That could be it. You know, I really like that toughness of yours.

Nico: Whew… I finally caught up… Rin, did you have to start a race out of nowhere like that?

Hanayo: *Pant* *Gasp* Rin… You’re a speed demon.

Eli: You’ve gotten a lot faster yourself, Hanayo. Keep up the good work and continue practicing hard.

Nozomi: *Snicker* I thought things sounded lively. You all ran up here, huh?

Rin: This hill’s the perfect location for training up your legs and hip. It’s too good a spot not to run up! I might even do another round!

Hanayo: Huh?! Rin, no! Wait! Oh, geez, she’s gone…

Maki: She’ll be back in no time. The view from the top of the hill is just gorgeous. I’m sure you’re eager to climb up and see for yourself.

Umi: Is something wrong? You’re sort of staring off… Hmm? Oh, yes. µ's gets a lot of our basic cardio fitness from exercising here.

Kotori: You can really see the results of our daily practices in our live shows. At the start, one lap was hard, but now I can do multiple laps no problem!

Eli: Cardiovascular fitness is the foundation of a good dance performance, so we take it very seriously.

Nico: It takes more energy than you’d think to do all that singing and dancing and keep a smile on your face! Of course, it’s a cake walk for yours truly.

Nozomi: Behind the scenes, Nico’s actually a very diligent worker. Personally, I think the way she can’t stand losing is pretty cute.

Nico: Nozomi, you blabbermouth! You didn’t need to say all that!

Rin: I’m back, everyone! *Giggle* Boy, all that running made me thirsty.

Maki: There’s a vending machine at the park we’re going to next. Actually, I’m pretty thirsty myself.

Honoka: All right, we’ll grab drinks before we have our snack break. There are benches and stuff, so we can sit down, relax, and have a nice chat.

Story 5: Park

Rin: Ahh! I’m re-energized! Nothing like a nice, cool beverage. That hit the spot!

Hanayo: Even though it’s cooling off now that it’s autumn, you can still work up a sweat if you exercise enough.

Maki: Autumn is the season for sports, as they say. I think this weather is perfect.

Honoka: Me too! *Sigh* You know, sitting here like this, I can’t help but reminisce about days gone by.

Kotori: We used to play here all the time when we were little. The playground equipment hasn’t changed at all.

Umi: The outlandish rules you’d make up for your games always left me scratching my head.

Honoka: Hee, hee. But you and Kotori would play along no matter what I said, so we always had fun!

Nozomi: Friends like that are a precious presence in our lives. …Hey, Eli, are you still picking out a drink?

Eli: No, I know what I’m getting… I just saw something that took me way back.

Nico: Something that took you way back? What?

Eli: The canned oden! When I came here last, Alisa found these and was so impressed by them.

Umi: Come to think of it, this park is where you first talked to us about dancing, Eli.

Eli: It’s also where I learned how determined you can be, Umi.

Kotori: There’s probably lots we still don’t know about each other.

Hanayo: I guess not. You know, showing people around the school and town as tour guides is giving us the chance to discover new things. It’s really nice.

Maki: You need to know something inside and out if you’re going to explain it to others.

Rin: Even just taking you around the town as a practice run helped show us all the great places there are to see.

Nozomi: To give a really thorough tour of all these spots might take more than one day.

Nico: It would take longer than all eternity to full describe my allure with words. I hope you’re ready!

Honoka: Hey, that’s right! Not just Nico, but all of us. I hope we can tell people as much as possible about our school, and ourselves, with the time we’ve got.

Hanayo: What’s great about this park is that we can still play in it like we would if we were kids.

Rin: All this playground equipment reminds me of when I was little. In fact, I’m gonna go climb up the jungle gym!

Honoka: I would bounce on this little spring rocker for hours. C’mon, Kotori! Ride with me!

Kotori: Whoa! This thing’s a lot more shaky than I remember it being.

Nozomi: Well, we’re on break. Nothing wrong with letting our inner child out to play, right? Anyone wanna brave the slide with me?

Eli: Now that we’re bigger, we get a lot more momentum going down the slide. It’s actually kind of thrilling!

Maki: Rin! Don’t stand on top of the jungle gym! That’s dangerous!

Rin: Don’t worry, I’m fine! I can see pretty far from up here, too. I’m the queen of the world!

Nico: Ahh, kids will be kids… This childlike innocence is something to be treasured, I suppose.

Umi: I agree. Let’s play a bit more, then head back to Honoka’s house. We want to show up with healthy appetites!

Story 6: Homura Bakery

Honoka: Welcome to the Homura Bakery, everyone!

Umi: The Homura Bakery’s sweet buns are quite delicious.

Kotori: And at this time of year, the sweet red bean soup is a nice treat, too!

Hanayo: Don’t leave without a Homura sticky rice ball. I can never pick between the sweet bean jam and soy flour, though… The black sesame’s good, too…

Rin: Then I’ll get the one coated in sweet bean jam, and you get one with soy flour!

Maki: Then I’ll get the ball coated in black sesame seeds, and we’ll all be able to have a taste of each flavor!

Hanayo: Rin, Maki, thank you! I just love the gooey, grainy texture the sticky rice balls have!

Nozomi: Eli, what are you gonna get? I’m thinking one of the semi-baked sweets…

Eli: Harasho! They do look delectable, don’t they? Like… edible art. I think I’ll go with this one shaped like a maple leaf.

Nico: I’ll go with my usual pick. A good old-fashioned sweet bun! C’mon, you hurry up and pick your treat, too!

Honoka: Huh? What do I recommend? Hmm… I’ve eaten so many of these that they don’t feel special anymore… Maybe try the dumplings? The glazed ones are yummy!

Honoka: *Giggle* Thank you! You all can head up to my room. I’ll make us some tea first.

Kotori: I’ll help, Honoka.

Honoka: Thanks! Umi, can you take care of everyone else?

Umi: Since we’re having sweets and tea, shouldn’t everyone take care of herself?

Maki: I think so, too. I feel bad about making Honoka do everything. We should all pitch in.

Rin: All right, I’ll put everyone’s sweets on a plate. I kinda wanna go being the counter today!

Eli: I remember when you tried to help that time Honoka and Yukiho were in charge of the store.

Nozomi: With your bright, cheerful personality, you’re the perfect person to take care of customers, Rin.

Nico: You’d be on an even better track having yours truly at the front. Nico welcomes you to the Homura Bakery! Nico-Nico-Ni!

Maki: That’s kind of a… nonstandard greeting.

Honoka: When it was just me and Yukiho stuck here, all I wanted to do was go to practice. But with you all here, I actually feel like working a shift!

Kotori: That’s because you’re surrounded by friends, Honoka. The next time you’ve got to work, I’ll be sure to come by and help.

Umi: So will I. I’d love to sit back and watch you working diligently.

Rin: Hanayo, Maki, and I will be here too… as customers! We’ll buy lots of sticky rice balls, right Hanayo?

Nozomi: Just don’t go overboard. Although all this talk about sticky rice balls is giving me a craving.

Eli: Same here! Do you want to split one, Nozomi? What about you?

Hanayo: One of the best parts of coming in such a big group is that we can all share, and have a little bit of everything!

Nico: Honoka, could you make my sweet buns to go? I’m going to bring some home to my brother and sisters.

Honoka: Aww, Nico, that’s so sweet! Tell you what, they’re on me. Here you go!

Story 7: Shohei Bridge

Honoka: This is the route I take to school. Even though I take it every day, I always stop to admire the scenery at night.

Umi: A lot of times, we all end up walking this way after practice.

Kotori: It’s nice and cool down by the river, so sometimes we’ll walk along the bank and talk.

Rin: Lots of pigeons flock around the streetlights by the bridge. I wonder if they’re chatting, too?

Maki: See that big, old-fashioned red brick building? I love the architecture. Apparently it used to be a train station.

Honoka: The way the streetlights underneath it reflect off the water is so pretty. When I come here at night, I can’t help but stop and look for a while.

Kotori: Even on hot days, this place gets a little cooler than everywhere else at night. It feels so nice, I’ll even take a detour on the way home from school.

Umi: In addition to being our main route to school, we often meet lots of people here.

Hanayo: In fact, this is where we first met Cocoro, Cocoa, and Cotaro.

Rin: I did a double take! I honestly thought someone had turned Nico into a little kid!

Eli: They were the super idol Nico’s biggest fans.

Nozomi: Hee, hee. And we were all supposed to be her backup dancers, right?

Nico: My flight from my “final live show” to being the galaxy’s top idol was truly a wonderful experience.

Honoka: Seeing your siblings so happy made me happy, too!

Maki: That was a side of you we rarely get to see. You’re going to have to keep working harder and harder for their sake, too.

Nico: I-I know that, you don’t need to say it out loud!

Nozomi: Hee, hee. You’re a great big sister, Nico.

Hanayo: With fans as cute as them how could you NOT want to give it your all?

Eli: It really is special to have the support of a sibling. I’m so glad Alisa is always there for me.

Honoka: When I hear Yukiho cheering, it gives me huge energy boost!

Kotori: And then there’s you! Your support always keeps me going. I’ll do my best so that you’ll want to cheer for me more and more each time!

Nico: I hope that when our school tour is over, our visitors will want to support us, too.

Hanayo: Me too. My greatest wish would be for them to support us, and want to be like us one day!

Nozomi: I think it’ll happen. I’m a firm believer that if you have faith, and work hard to fight for your dreams, then your dreams will fight for you, too.

Eli: I can’t think of anything better than having more people like you, who support us no matter what.

Umi: I’d like to think of some more things we could do to help our tour guests get to know us better.

Honoka: Well, what’re we waiting for? After all, we’ve got TEN people today! If all ten of us work together, I bet we can come up with all kinds of great ideas!

Rin: Man, I’m raring to go now! Let’s all run to the school as fast as we can!

Hanayo: Oh, Rin! Wait up!

Epilogue

Rin: First place! C’mon everyone, hurry up!

Maki: *Pant* *Pant* Whew… We’ve still got practice after this… I feel like I’m already warmed up now.

Hanayo: Tee-hee. Going around Akihabara as a group today was loads of fun.

Honoka: It sure was. I had a blast! What did you think? Did you feel like a real visitor to our town, and to Otonokizaka?

Kotori: Showing someone around the streets and sights we see every day really puts it all in a new light, doesn’t it?

Umi: We even noticed a few new things ourselves. We need to consolidate what we learned from today’s rehearsal and revise our plans for the real tour.

Nozomi: You’re so serious, Umi! After today, I’m sure the real tour will go off without a hitch.

Eli: I agree. And not just the tour of the school! I think we’ll be able to make the local area very interesting for our guests.

Honoka: Well, we live here, after all! The school’s one thing, but it was a great change of pace talking about what we do in town every day.

Maki: I’m glad we all wrote wish plaques at Kanda Shrine.

Nozomi: I bet the visitors would like it if they got to write a prayer for passing their entrance exams.

Kotori: Oh, that’s a great idea! Exams can be so stressful. I hope they can forget all the stress and just enjoy their time with us.

Rin: Yeah, we need to remember to stay happy and positive the whole time. I’m gonna throw the hardest pitch I can at them!

Hanayo: Hee, hee. Just don’t get so worked up that you leave us all in the dust, all right?

Nico: Having their school idol heroines take them around is sure to motivate them! In fact, do we need a special Nico performance?

Honoka: Hey, yeah! We need to think about applying to have a live show or something. There’d be a lot to get done, but it’d be so cool!

Eli: Smiles and positivity are infectious, so if we’re enjoying ourselves, everyone else will, too. We need to make sure we have a good time, too!

Umi: Just like we had a great tour of Akihabara, we need to have plenty of segments for our tour of the school itself.

Rin: Okie-dokie! We’ll add a piano performance by Maki to our tour of the music room!

Hanayo: That’s brilliant! Maki, we need your talent!

Honoka: I love your piano playing a lot, too, Maki. I want as many people to hear you as possible!

Maki: If you insist… I suppose it would make things more interesting for everyone who comes. All right, why not?

Rin: Hooray! Thank you, Maki!

Nico: Then we’ll have a live show in the auditorium. It’ll be our way of showing the visitors just how much they could do here.

Kotori: And it’s just our style! After all, the auditorium is where we held our first live show.

Honoka: That’s right! Okay, let’s flesh out the plan while we finish walking around the school.

Umi: Sounds good to me. Then our next step is to give a tour of the school.

Nico: And when that’s done, you’ll get a special viewing of Nico’s practice session. You’re gonna love it. Guaranteed!
