Fortuneteller Yohane[]

Yoshiko plays fortuneteller for Aqours, and predicts...

Story 1

Yoshiko: Not a cloud in the sky. You couldn't ask for better weather.

Yoshiko: I may be a denizen of the darkness, but i can appreciate beauty when i see it. Ah! Wait, wait! I'm getting on!

Yoshiko: Oof!

Yoshiko: Owie, owie, owie... My leg still hurts where i smacked it.

Yoshiko: (Let's review. I tripped and fell in a puddle. The fall knocked open my backpack. Everything spilled out, which made me miss the bus, and now I'm late.)

Yoshiko: (If I ever find who left that banana peel there... That stupid thing was the only reason I tripped. Well, I might've tripped even if it hadn't been there.)

Together: *Sigh*

Yoshiko: What're you two sighing about?

Hanamaru: Us? You're the one who looks like she was late because she tripped, fell into a puddle, had her backpack spill, then missed the bus, zura.

Yoshiko: Urk! H-How did you know all that?!

Ruby: I've been having a run of bad luck lately and it's really got me down.

Ruby: I forgot a bunch of things, I got barked at by a dog on the way home and I got called on in class and totally blanked on the answer.

Hanamaru: I feel your pain. I spilled tea on a book I liked, I sneezed all over my lunch just as I was about to eat it, and I keep dropping things.

Hanamaru: Just this morning, a flower wilted over the exact moment I laid eyes on it, right in the middle of the stem!

Ruby: Whoa!

Hanamaru: It's an omen, zura. All this nonstop bad luck has to be a sign that we're being haunted by something evil!

Ruby: N-No way... D-Do you think we've been c-cursed? *Sob* Waaaaaaaaah!

Yoshiko: All right, all right! Calm down, you two! That kinda thinking isn't going to help.

Yoshiko: (They're both totally panicking. What...should I do? Oh, I know!)

Yoshiko: (I know it's in my backpack somewhere... C'mon, where'd you go? Ah-ha! Gotcha!)

Yoshiko: Silence, you two!

Ruby: Bwuh?

Yoshiko: An unlucky star looms over both your heads. It is as if you are walking alone on a dark road. I don't blame you for being upset.

Yoshiko: The fallen angel Yohane will now predict what awaits at the end of you paths, using one of my seven secret fortune-telling tools. Behold the "Major Arcana"!

Hanamaru: Fortune-telling?

Ruby: Arcana? Wait... Don't tell me... Tarot cards?!

Hanamaru: *Gasp* Ruby, you look happy again!

Ruby: Tarot cards remind of of Nozomi Tojo from µ's, the legendary school idol who used her spiritual powers to get µ's out of all sorts of jams!

Hanamaru: Wow! I never knew there was someone like that in µ's.

Yoshiko: That sounds like an exaggeration... Oh well. Moving on...

Yoshiko: I shall focus my thoughts on the two of you, and pull one card from this deck of 22. The card I draw for you will spell your fate.

Ruby: Ooh, I don't think I've ever had my fortune told like this before. I'm so excited to see what happens!

Yoshiko: Here goes! One for Zuramaru, one for Ruby.

Hanamaru: That was quick!

Yoshiko: You can't overthink these things. You have to trust your instincts and move when the time is right. So what'd you get? Zuramaru has... Oh, ho, ho!

Hanamaru: What a mysterious picture... What does it mean?

Yoshiko The Sun. An arcanum of freedom and success. You have no need to look for light, Zuramaru. The sun is about to rise for you.

Yoshiko: Your world will be illuminated, and your mood and luck are going to take a dramatic turn for the better. Whatever's haunting you is about to get sent packing!

Hanamaru: Wh-Woah! Seriously?

Yoshiko: Yohane's demonic divinations never miss the mark! Now, for you, Ruby. You have... Well, well, well.

Ruby: W-What? Is it something bad?!

Yoshiko: The Wheel of Fortune in the reversed position. This is an arcanum of change and growth. It looks like your night will last a bit longer, Ruby.

Ruby: Uh oh... Does that mean more bad stuff's gonna happen to me?

Yoshiko: Don't be discouraged. The Wheel is always turning. Eventually, the star causing your misfortune will change position and fade away in the morning light.

Yoshiko: Whether you get called on in class or smack your shin going up the stairs ,never give up, and never look back. Believe that the sun will rise, and push forward!

Ruby: I-I will!

Hanamaru: I was really upset before, but now I feel strangely at peace, zura. Yoshiko, can I keep the card as a good luck charm?

Yoshiko: No way! The power of the Major Arcana comes from all 22 cards being present in the deck. Hand it over!

Hanamaru: Aww...

Yoshiko: (Well, I was on time for the bus today. No banana peels or puddles in sight. Looks like i'm going to make it to class safe and sound!)

Hanamaru: Yoshiko!

Yoshiko: Zuramaru and Ruby? What're you two worked up over? What happened?

Hanamaru: Your predictions came true, zura!

Yoshiko: Huh?!

Hanamaru: I stopped in the bookstore on the way home yesterday and bought the very last copy of the latest printing of this book I really like!

Hanamaru: Then an old lady asked me for directions, and gave me three sweet buns as thanks for helping her!

Hanamaru: And this morning, I almost stubbed my toe on my dresser, but I moved at the last second and dodged it, zura!

Yoshiko: W-Wow. Good for you.

Ruby: Mine came true, too. I mean, I wasn't as lucky as Hanamaru, but...

Ruby: My alarm went off in the middle of the night, and I was so startled I fell out of the bed... face first. I must've set it to the wrong time by accident.

Ruby: So I was hurting. My heart was racing, and it was pitch black. I got really upset and felt like i was gonna cry.

Ruby: But then I remembered what you said, Yoshiko. Never give up, never look back, trust that the sun will rise, and keep pushing forward.

Ruby: So I calmed down, and the tears went away. When I woke up this morning, I felt completely refreshed.

Ruby: Thank you, Yoshiko. Next time something bad happens to me, I won't let it get me down.

Hanamaru: Yes,yes. We owe it all to the great angel, Yohane! Thank you so very, very much!

Yoshiko: (I can't believe how much things have turned around since yesterday. Well, at least they're smiling again. When they're unhappy, it messes me up, too.)

Yoshiko: Wait a second... I'm not a great angel! I'm a fallen angel! Revise your statement!

Story 2

Chika: Oh, there she is! Yoshiko!

Yoshiko: Hey, Chika...and You, and Riko. What's up?

Chika: Ruby and Hanamaru told me everything. Can you really tell people's fortunes?!

Yoshiko: Yup.

Chika: Oooooooooh!

Yoshiko: What?

You: I think she's just happy you're for real. One of the members of µ's is good at fortune-telling, too.

Yoshiko: Oh, I see. Now that you mention it, Ruby said the same thing. She got really excited when she was talking about her, too.

Chika: Yoshiko, that's so cool that you know how to tell fortunes! You're so awesome.

Riko: Hanamaru and Ruby looked very happy, too. They said you really encouraged them.

Yoshiko: I see. Well, it's Yohane's job to provide mental health support for her little demons. I want them to be relaxed and worry-free when we descend into the abyss.

Riko: Regardless of the abyss and whatnot, we're all really curious to learn about your fortune-telling methods.

Chika: Yeah, yeah! Can you read our fortunes, too?

Yoshiko: Heh, heh. Certainly. What do you want me to predict?

Chika: Hooray! I know exactly what to ask. I'd like you to predict my luck for today, please!

Riko: Even though it's already past noon...

You: It's "today" until the date changes, so what's the big deal? I'd like to know mine, too.

Yoshiko: But of course. Even the greatest of demon lords fear the accuracy of Yohane's predictions. Prepare yourselves for the full experience!

Yoshiko: Pitiful little demons who have lost their way amidst suffering and disillusionment. If ye seek the light of Yohane's divination, swear fealty to me here and now.

Chika: I'm yours, oh mighty Yohane!

Riko: Wait a sec! What kind of ritual are you about to perform?

Yoshiko: Fortune-telling is the art of tapping into the unknown. It may save you, or lead you to your doom. I ask you to take an oath to be sure we all take this seriously.

Riko: I'm pretty sure a lot of what you just said has nothing to do with being serious...

Chika: A dark room, a perfectly worded incantation, and a cloth with a weird design on the table. Man... This is such a rush!

Yoshiko: Settle down. If your heart is aflutter, it makes it difficult to predict your destiny.

Chika: *Gasp* S-Sorry.

Yoshiko Let's begin, shall we? This time, I'll use this.

You: A bag?

Yoshiko: One of my seven secret fortune-telling tools. Stone fortune-telling!

Chika: Stone? You're going to use rocks?

Yoshiko They're no mere rocks. Reach into the bag, hold on to whichever one you like, and empty the stones onto the cross. I'll read your future based on how they land.

Riko: Fortune-telling with stones... I've never heard of such a thing before. I know about of tarot cards and feng shui, but I guess there are lots of different methods!

Yoshiko: Now, Chika! Let's see what your destiny holds. Reach into the bag, and grab hold of your future with your own hand!

Chika: The future is in my hands! Here goes!

Chika: Mmmmmmmmmh... HAH!

You: Ha, ha! Chika, that was beautiful. Oh, the stones are all just ordinary rocks.

Riko:: It looks like they just fell on the table. What's it supposed to mean?

Yoshiko: Hnnnnnnnngh...!

Chika: What does it say, Oh great Yohane?

Yoshiko: Horse.

Together: Horse?

Yoshiko: The stones landed in the shape of a horse. A horse galloping at top speed, no less!

You: Whoa, a galloping horse?

Chika: I see it. If you think of this bigger rock as the head, and these as the legs and body, it does kinda look like a horse!

Riko: Wait, wait, wait. A horse? What is... I don't...

Chika: What does a horse mean?

Yoshiko: The body's mostly made of white stones, so we can say this is a white horse. A white horse symbolizes good fortune, and the running posture portends good news.

Yoshiko: Chika, I believe that later today, you're going to get some kind of good news that'll put you in a great mood.

Chika: Oh, cool! Good news, huh? I wonder what it'll be...

You: Hmm, it looks more like a frog to me. Or maybe it's a fish? It could be someone's face, too.

Riko: Actually, doesn't this remind you of a psychological test?

Chika: Oh, that's my phone. I wonder who it is... It's my mom. Hang on, I'll be right back.

You: Go right ahead.

Chika: Hello? Mom? What's up? Yeah... Yeah. Huh? Are you serious?!

Riko: What's that all about?

Yoshiko: Dunno.

Chika: All right. Bye!

You: What'd your mom want?

Chika: She entered a TV show giveaway contest and she actually won! The prize just got delivered!

Chika: They only picked three winners, so it was almost pointless to even bother entering. But she won, and the prize... was a prime horse steak!

Riko: H-Horse steak? It can't be...

Yoshiko: Good fortune literally came in the form the stones predicted. And right to Chika's... no, the whole Takami family's front door!

Chika: Yoshiko, that was unbelievable! You were dead-on! I think you really do have some kind of mysterious power!

Riko: It was more than just a prediction. That was a prophecy.

You: C'mon, Yoshiko! Do me next, please!

Yoshiko: Certainly. First, we'll... Actually, wait. I've been letting this slide the whole time, but... It's not Yoshiko, it's YOHANE!

Story 3

Yoshiko: Whew... Another day of class in the books! I could go to the club room now, but i'd be the first one there. Oh, well. I'll just have to wait then!

Yoshiko: Zuramaru, Ruby! I'm goin' to the club ro--

Hanamaru: Yoshiko, I'm going to the club room, zura! Huh?

Ruby: I could've sworn she was here... Maybe she went on ahead?

Dia: I appreciate you coming.

Yoshiko: I sense an aura of confusion and frustration about you, I imagine you've found yourself in some kind of troubling situation.

Dia: You're right on the mark, Yoshiko... No, I should call you Yohane. Will you lend me your power?

Yoshiko: My..power? What for? What in the world is going on with you?

Dia: Well...

Mari: She wants you to take us on a tour of the underworld, Yohane!

Dia: *Screech* M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-M-Mari?! How did you...?!

Kanan: Well, well. What a rare sight! I actually got to see Dia in weird-serious mode.

Dia: Kanan's here too... And whatn do you mean by weird-serious?

Yoshiko: When did you two get here? It's no small feat to sneak around and catch Yohane off guard. I'll give you three credit for that.

Kanan She just grouped Dia with us?

Mari: I was curious as to why Dia would be heading to the freshmen's classroom, so i tailed her. I was sure she just wanted to talk to Ruby or something

Mari: Then I find her grabbing you and moving locations. I figured whatever you two were up to, it was going to be fun, so I contacted Kanan and we watched.

Kanan: She called me up and said "the mission is a go" all serious like, I had no idea what i was getting into.

Dia: Urgh! I can't believe I didn't notice I was being followed...

Yoshiko: Umm... So, can you tell me why you called me over now?

Dia: Oh, I apologize. Yohane, would you come over here for a moment?

Yoshiko: Huh?

Mari: Ah! Whispering between yourselves! No fair! I wanna hear, too!

Yoshiko: Mm-hmm. You lost...student council's... Important documents?!

Dia: You're too loud!

Mari: Wow, i can't even imagine you losing things, Dia. So that's why you were scrounging through your bang and folders in a panic.

Dia: *Sigh* Yes... After the last meeting, I was organizing some of the files and accidentally dropped them all over my desk.

Dia: I thought I'd picked them all up, but today, I noticed that I was missing one sheet. I need to turn everything today, but I can't find that one sheet anywhere!

Kanan: That's a big problem. But wait... You asked Yoshiko to help you find it? Why her?

Dia: I had my reservations about resorting to this method, but I decided I need all the help I can get. I need her fortune-telling powers to find the sheet's whereabouts.

Dia: When i heard about her powers from Ruby, I was skeptical, but she predicted Chika's future. right down to the tiniest detail, didn't she?

Mari: Really? That's amazing, Yoshiko!

Dia: So I thought if she's truly that accurate, she could help me too... Anyway, that's why I called for her.

Yoshiko: I see.

Dia: Well, Yohane? Can you help me?

Yoshiko: (Wh-What do I do...? This is more serious than I thought. With Zuramaru and Ruby, it was more like I cheered them up instead of predicting their futures.)

Yoshiko: (And with Chika, I just kind of ran with it. This time, if I fail, I'm really going to disappoint Dia. Or worse, she'll get in trouble)

Yoshiko: (But then again. she came to me in her hour of need. I need to try.)

Yoshiko: All right. I'll do what I can.

Dia: Really? Thank you so much!

Yoshiko: This time, I'll try using these.

Kanan: Pencil and paper?

Mari: A placemat and a chopstick!

Yoshiko: It's none of those things! How can you be so far off? These are one of my seven secret fortune telling tools, the "Compass of Desire"!

Kanan: I guess it does look more like a chopstick than a pencil, though there is just one. So what happens? Drop it and it points toward what you're looking for?

Yoshiko: H-How'd you know?

Mari: Because simple is best! This seems like a great way to search for something that's been lost.

Dia: If it finds my missing paper, I'll do anything.

Yoshiko: Ahem! Th-Then let's begin. Compass spinning round and round, show us where what's lost is found.

Kanan Hmm?

Dia: It's pointing towards the... door?

Mari: Hmmm? I don't see any papers over here.

Dia: There's not enough of a gap for even paper to slip through. Does that mean it's beyond the door? It got blown outside?!

Yoshiko: Maybe it's not showing a direction... Maybe...

Mari: Huh? What?

Yoshiko: Kanan, can you head back to your classroom and double-check your desk and backpack?

Kanan: Huh?

Yoshiko: Hurry!

Mari: Oh! Welcome back. Find anything?

Kanan: I couldn't believe my eyes. Yoshiko, you are amazing.

Yoshiko: You found it, didn't you?

Kanan: Yup! Here you go, Dia.

Dia: Huh?! Th-This is the paper that I lost! Kanan, why did you have this?

Kanan: It was slipped into that notebook you lent me!

Mari: Unbelievable! The answer was right in front of us. That chopstick wasn't pointing at the door. It was pointing at Kanan!

Kanan: When I found it, a chill went up my spine.

Dia: All's well that ends well. Thank you very, very much, Yohane! Oh, but let's keep this between us, okay?

Yoshiko: You can relax. Yohane's mouth will stay as sealed as a netherworld clam. I'll never spill anyone's secrets!

Kanan: That goes for you too, Mari. Don't go spreading this around school.

Mari: Okie-dokie!

Story 4

Hanamaru: Good morning, Yoshiko!

Ruby: Morning!

Yoshiko: A refreshing dawn for you two, I'm sure. But for eyes accustomed to the darkness such as mine, it is dazzlingly bright.

Hanamaru: That's our Yoshiko, zura... Wait, what the heck?! You're covered in mud, zura!

Ruby: And you're all scratched up. What happened?

Yoshiko: Oh, nothing major. A kid playing nearby kicked a ball into my face, and as I staggered backwards, I tripped over the curb and fell down.

Hanamaru: Y-You poor thing, zura...

You: Our moves are pretty much in sync now.

Chika: Well, we practiced a whole bunch! Whew... I'm kinda tired, though.

Dia: Let's take a breather. Don't forget to stay hydrated, everybody.

Mari: Yoshiko still hasn't come...

Kanan: What happened again? She forgot her assignment due today, so she's coming after that's done?

Hanamaru: I wouldn't say she forgot... The assignment was three sheets, but when they were handed out, only Yoshiko didn't get a copy of the third sheet, zura.

You: How does that even happen? Regardless, it's not like it was Yoshiko's fault. They couldn't make an exception for her?

Riko: Apparently not.

Chika: That's not fair!

Hanamaru: She told us we should go on without her, but we really should've waited, zura. She's been down in the dumps all day, starting with that awful morning...

Kanan: Now that you mention it, poor Yoshiko seems to constantly deal with one issue after another. She tries to play it off, but it must bother her.

Yoshiko: Sorry for the wait, little demons! The fallen angel Yohane has descended upon ye!

Dia: Speak of the literal devil. Glad you finished your assignment. Was it difficult? It took you quite a while.

Yoshiko: Oh, no. I just ran out of lead for my mechanical pencil, then my backup wood pencil broke, then I ripped the page while I was erasing something, so...

Mari: O. M. G.

Chika: Yoshiko, don't you ever try to predict your own future?

Yoshiko: Huh?

Chika: Like, if you knew a lot of bad things were going to happen to you today, couldn't you have avoided them or come up with some kind of way to change them?

Yoshiko: Easier said than done. I, umm... I'm always being heckled by cruel angels, so I can't accurately tell my own fortune!

Chika: Really? Why don't you try? Who knows, maybe you'll end up being very lucky!

Mari: Don't you have your seven items today?

Yoshiko: I've got the Major Arcana, but...

Yoshiko: You're right. I'll give it a shot. Show me what my future holds... now!

You: Ooh! What is it?

Yoshiko: It's the Tower, in reversed position. A sign of collapse and endless disaster.

Chika: Umm, well, collapse means something's going to fall, right? So maybe you're going to drop something or knock something over. You just need to watch out for that!

Dia: To draw a card like that at a time like this... really makes it feel like Yoshiko's the real thing...

You: Huh?

Kanan: What the heck?! The forecast didn't say anything about rain. Where'd this come from?

Hanamaru: Eek! I'm getting soaked, zura!

Dia: E-Everyone, back inside!

Yoshiko: *Cough* *Cough* *Cough* My throat hurts...

Yoshiko: (That's how yesterday ended. I wasn't able to join practice, and now I'm home sick. The "collapse" must've been referring to the weather and my health.)

Yoshiko: (Endless disaster, huh... Like I needed to be told that! When I fell from grace, I left all hope behind at the feet of God.)

Yoshiko: Huh? Mom?

Hanamaru: It's not your mom, zura!

Ruby: Excuse us!

Yoshiko: R-Ruby? Zuramaru? What're you two doing here?

Ruby: We heard you were sick, so we came by to visit. How're you feeling?

Yoshiko: Please, this is nothing. Who do you think I am? I'm the fallen angel... *Cough* *Cough*

Hanamaru: Yes, yes, the great Yohane. Please don't overexert yourself, zura.

Hanamaru: I brought some jelly. I figured it'd be easy to swallow, even though I know you don't have much of an appetite. I have mikan orange, grape, coconut, mango...

Yoshiko: That's a lot!

Hanamaru: It's all from the whole gang, including this.

Yoshiko: Lucky charms? A four-leaf clover bookmark, a lucky cat doll, a phone strap of the seven lucky gods, talismans and a horseshoe? What's this fluffy thing and that ring?

Ruby: The fluffy thing is the rabbit's foot. It's not a real one, though! And the ring is a dreamcatcher to protect you from having bad dreams.

Yoshiko: So... these are all amulets to protect you from bad luck, then?

Hanamaru: Exactly! With all these, no amount of disaster is going to get to you. The gods of luck will protect you with an ironclad defense!

Ruby: I know the Tower card you drew has a lot of negative meanings, but it can't possibly mean you'll have bad luck forever. Cheer up, okay?

Yoshiko: Okay... Thank you.

Yoshiko: (I take back what I said. I haven't abandoned all hope just yet, apparently. Otherwise, I never could've made friends like this who care so much about me.)

Yoshiko: Can I have some jelly? If you want, you can stay and eat some with me.

Ruby: Oh, of course! We bought them for you, after all. Eat as much as you want!

Yoshiko: I couldn't possibly eat all this. Plus, Zuramaru looks like she's starting to drool.

Hanamaru: *Slurp* Oh my goodness, you're right.

Ruby: Well, let's eat. These jelly cups are part of a contest. Everyone has a chance to win, and if it says "Winner" under your lid, you get a prize!

Yoshiko: Neat.

Hanamaru: Let's all open ours on three, okay?

Yoshiko: Sure.

Hanamaru: One, two...

Hanamaru: Aww, I didn't get it.

Ruby: Me too. *Giggle* Oh well! How about you, Yoshiko?

Yoshiko: ...............................I'm a winner.
