Rin: µ's is doomed! Dooooooooooooomed! Nozomi: Get ahold of yourselves, girls! It's too soon to give up! Nico: Frankly... I don't think we stand a chance. Eli: Oh come on, don't be so fatalistic! Umi: Really. Who's side are you on, Nico? Nico: Huh? O-Obviously I'm with µ's all the way... but... Nico: But... Maki: But you're also a huge fan of A-RISE, right Nico? Nico: Urk! Nozomi: Aaah! Nico-cchi, you wouldn't betray us, would you?! Rin: How could you?! Out with it! Who do you like better, µ's or A-RISE? Nico: D-Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? µ's always comes first! Hanayo: Tsubasa Kira, Erena Todo, Anju Yuki... It's no exaggeration to say A-RISE sits on top of the school idol universe. Hanayo: And we're going to have a joint event with them... Us... and them... together... Honoka: This is gonna rock! Hanayo: Yeah! I'm pretty nervous, but this is really something to look forward to! Eli: Hehehe. Honoka doesn't look the least bit nervous. Honoka: Since this is such a special occasion, I really wanna sing a brand-new song. Maki, can you write a piece for the show? Maki: Huh? I'm sure I can come up with something, but... Honoka: Woohoo! Now I'm really jazzed for rehearsals! Nico: Honoka's so unfazed by all this, it's almost incomprehensible. Kotori: Honoka really is something special, isn't she Umi? Umi: Oh yes! If someone asked me what Honoka was like, that is exactly how I'd describe her. Nozomi: We should all follow her example. Let's shake off the nervous and try to be our usual selves! Eli: Then starting tomorrow we should start practice half an hour earlier than usual. Umi: Let's start every day off right by working hard at morning rehearsals. Rin: Yeah! Maki: Hmm? Those girls over there are wearing UTX uniforms. Tsubasa: Hello, ladies! Nico: A-Ah! I-I-I-I-It's... It's... Hanayo: A-RISE... The most popular school idol group there is! Anju: *Giggle* We came by to say hello. Nico: It's them... The real thing... Tsubasa: We thought it's be silly if the first time we met was the day of the event. Let's make it something special, okay? Honoka: Aye, aye! We're all looking forward to it. Hanayo: Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod... What do I say... My knees are knocking... Tsubasa: I'm looking forward to seeing you perform, Miss Hanayo Koizumi. Hanayo: Y-Yes! Right! Thanks! Hanayo: She... She said my name... Umi: We truly appreciate your group inviting us to hold a joint event. Eli: µ's will be working every bit as hard as A-RISE in preparation. Tsubasa: Heheh. I'd hoped you'd say something along those lines. Anju: Let's all work hard. Rin: You got it! Nico: S-So... will A-RISE be unveiling any new songs at this event? Maki: Asked like a complete diehard fan... Erena: We won't need a new song for this. Eli: Meaning... You expect to win with something from your existing repertoire? Erena: Oh no, just that we need to focus more on the aquatic performance preparation. Anju: I've got a really great design for our swimsuits ready to go. Maki: What? Swimsuits? Hanayo: M-Maki, be a little more polite. Maki: I-I'm sorry, the word "swimsuit" caught me off guard. Eli: Pardon me, but what's all this about swimsuits? Tsubasa: Hmm? Didn't you read the email I sent detailing the specifics for the event? I hope it didn't get sent to the spam folder. Anju: We wanted to shake things up for this event rather than do the same old thing. We decided on a summertime school idol swimming contest. Good luck! Hanayo: Huh? Honoka: Whaaaaaaaaat?! |

| Nico: Our joint event isn't a stage show, it's a swimming competition...
Rin: Then can't we just wear our usual school-issued swimsuits? Kotori: No, no, no! This is a school idol event, we need extra-special, extra-cute bathing suits for the crowd! Nozomi: A school idol swimming competition... Ah! What is the unthinkable happens and someone- Eli: It won't happen! Umi: I'm a bit reluctant to dance around in a cute bathing suit in front of a big crowd. Maki: But wouldn't we look rather uncool dancing in school-issued bathing suits? Maki: Also, isn't a swimming competition more the domain of, you know, the swim team? Eli: I agree. Plus, anyone coming to an A-RISE and µ's joint event is going to be expecting a stage show. Hanayo: Listen, everyone! Put your hands on your hearts, close your eyes, and let's VISUALIZE! Honoka: Okay! Umi: Err... Where did that come from, Hanayo? Rin: What're we supposed to visualize, Hanayo? Hanayo: First, visualize the pool! See the sparkling spray of the water. Honoka: Ooh... This is making me want to jump in the pool right now. Hanayo: Picture a group of cute girls frolicking in the water. Then think of them competing against one another, eyes shining with determination as they swim. Nozomi: Mmm, I like it. It's the epitome of summertime. Hanayo: Do you see it now? Those girls in the pool are irresistible! Hanayo: It may be a little embarrassing wearing bathing suits, but we're school idols. A swimming competition is a very glamorous event! Umi: I see. When you put it that way, I can't help but agree. Kotori: I would've loved to do a stage show, but a swimming competition is bound to be fun too! Nozomi: Actually, we're supposed to do a mini-live show afterwards. See? Here's the flyer. Honoka: Ooh! We get to go swimming AND perform? Awesome! Nico: A school idol swimming competition... It'll be great. Imagine how excited the crowd will be when the Nico Nico Smile's legendary cuteness hits the pool! Nozomi: I take it you know how to swim then, Nico-cchi? Nico: Eep. Rin: What? Nico, you can't swim?! Nico: I-I'll be all right! A cute little swim tube is the perfect accessory for a school idol. Umi: Really? So for the swimming competition you and you alone will be using a swim tube? Nico: Actually, I think a swim tube is more school idol-ish. Rin: Nico... Umi: We'll have to give you swimming lessons right up until the day of the event. Nico: Uh-uh, no way! Who says I even have to swim? As long as I look cute, that should be good enough. Maki: As blunt as always. Eli: Swimming competition or not, we're putting on a joint event with A-RISE themselves. We are not going to slack. Honoka: Yeah! Let's do some special training at the pool! Maki: Not that we need it. I'm sure we'd win even if we didn't train once. Rin: Whoa, Maki's super-confident! Maki: Well, think about it for a second. Maki: There are nine of us, and three of them. Therefore, they'd have to train three times as hard just to be equal to us. Nozomi: Good point. We'll be able to conserve our stamina! Nico: Heh... Muhuhu... Hahaha! Finally, µ's will take it's rightful place at the top of the school idol universe! Nico: Oh, but at the same time I don't want to se A-RISE walking away defeated! Rin: Nico, who's side are you on here? Anju: A swim meet, huh? We'll really need to push ourselves. Erena: Do you think maybe we should've competed on the stage, after all? Tsubasa: No. I'm sure we'll end up going head to head with µ's on stage at some point. Tsubasa: Besides, we always put 100% into everything we do, no matter what kind of event it is. I'm sure µ's is no different. Tsubasa: Hehe... This is going to be great. |

| Honoka: Whoo, we're at the arena for today's event!
Nozomi: The weather's beautiful and we've got a ginormous audience! Hanayo: Check it out, Rin. There's a mat floating in the pool like some huge island! Rin: You're right! I guess it'll be less like swimming and more like sports on the mats? Nico: Thank goodness... I won't have to swim after all. Kotori: Lucky for you, Nico. Nico: I-I didn't mean... I'm just saying I'll be able to give a much cuter performance on the mat than in the water! Eli: Well then, Nico, I look forward to seeing an extra-cute performance from you. Nico: You won't be disappointed! Umi: The competition's about to start. Let's head on down. Tsubasa: Welcome to the µ's and A-RISE joint event! Our summer school idol aquatic competition is now underway! Anju: Let's keep it fair and do our best, everyone! Honoka: µ's never gives less than 100 percent! Watch us closely, everyone! Erena: First up is Rin Hoshizora versus Kira Tsubasa. On your marks... Get set... GO! Rin: Wahoo! Nozomi: Look! Rin's winning the water footrace! Hanayo: Show them, Rin! Rin: Muhaha! On the land or on the sea, nobody can outrun me! Tsubasa: You haven't crossed the goal line yet. Rin: Huh? Maki: Rin! There's a corner coming up! Eyes forward! Rin: Wh-WHOOOOOAH! Anju: Now, Tsubasa! Tsubasa: I've got this! Erena: Tsubasa Kira wins the race! Tsubasa: Remember, Miss Rin Hoshizora. It ain't over till it's over. Rin: Right... Darn it all! Hanayo: Next up is Umi Sonoda versus Erena Todo! Umi: I have to win this for everyone. Hanayo: On your marks... Get set... GO! Umi: Hyaah! Erena: Umi Sonoda... She's too fast! Hanayo: Umi Sonoda wins the race! Honoka: Umi, that was so awesome! You were like a ninja! Umi: I-I'm not a ninja! Nico: I'll handle the floating tug-of-war! Anju's super pretty, but she doesn't look too strong. This will be the cutest matchup of the day! Anju: Good luck, Nico! Tsubasa: On your marks... Get set... GO! Nico: First I'll give the rope a tiny little tug, and... WHOA! Anju: Eheheh. I win. Nico: No way! Hanayo: Round two begins with Honoka Kosaka versus Erena Todo. Honoka: Hah! Hwachah! Hiiiiiiiiiya! Erena: You need more practice. Nico: That was too fast! Hanayo: Team A-RISE wins the ball toss! Kotori: I can't believe we lost the ball toss. Nozomi: We only needed two more... Maki: Isn't everyone taking this a bit too seriously? This is a SCHOOL IDOL aquatic competition. Nico: I thought this would be more casual, and we'd just be playing and acting cute. I totally let my guard down. Kotori: So far Umi's got the only victory for µ's. Rin: Look, look! Eli, Umi, and Hanayo just won the boat-rowing race! Eli: That's two for us! A-RISE may be dominant, but it's too soon to give up! Umi: Yes. We'll fight to the bitter end! |

| Hanayo: The current score is 70 to 30, A-RISE. They're top performers no matter what they do!
Rin: Maki, you said we'd mop the floor with them since it was nine to three. Maki: I-I never said we'd mop the floor with them. Nozomi: I guess it's no shock that the top school idols have stamina to spare. Nico: The next event is the last one. Does that mean we lose no matter what? Eli: Don't worry. Next is the three-person freestyle relay. It's worth a lot of points! Honoka: Huh? Wait, does that mean µ's can come from behind and win by an upset?! Eli: Unfortunately, no. If we win this, it'll be a tie! Kotori: Hahaha. So µ's can't win regardless. Nozomi: The relay's about to begin. Let's go! Honoka: Rin, Umi, Eli... Go get 'em! Umi: Leave it to us! Tsubasa: Time for the last event. Let's make it a good one! Umi: Yes! We can't lose the last round... We just can't. Nozomi: So the final showdown is a freestyle relay. It's our team of Rin, Eli, and Umi against A-RISE. Nozomi: On your marks... Get set... GO! Anju: Pwah! Rin: I... I don't get it... How'd she get so far past me? Honoka: A-RISE is slowly getting ahead... Hanayo: Rin! You were a great lead-off swimmer! Rin: Ugh... She passed me. Avenge me, Eli! Erena: Now's my chance to widen the gap! Eli: Ngh... Can't let her beat me. Maki: They're really far ahead now. We may not be able to catch up. Nico: Lay off the doom and gloom, and cheer for them! Maki: I'm sorry. Kotori: If Umi swims extra hard, maybe... Nico: Honoka. It's almost Umi's turn. Go over there and say something to motivate her, like "Kick some butt!" or "Failure is not an option!" Honoka: Okay... Can do. UMIIII! Umi: Honoka! Don't worry, I'll close the gap. Honoka: These are the final moments of our big aquatic event! Get out there and enjoy every second of it! Umi: Honoka... Umi: Understood. Tsubasa: This is their last chance, and she just told you to go out and have fun? Umi: Once you can say you've given it everything you've got, it's important to just let go and have fun. Honoka taught us that. Tsubasa: I see... You attitudes are very different from ours. Tsubasa: Maybe it's that difference that brings out µ's' full potential. Umi: Let's make our last race a good one. Kotori: Umi, that was indescribable! I can't believe how fast you swam. You caught up so much! Umi: Thank you very much. I just wish I could've won. Rin: I wish we hadn't lost by such a huge margin. Umi: Agreed... But I really enjoyed myself out there thanks to Honoka and all of you. Honoka: That's great! As long as everyone had fun, that's all that matters. Maki: Unbelievable... We outnumbered A-RISE three-to-one and they demolished us. Honoka: Yeah, they're awesome! A-RISE is A-RISE. That's all you can say. Nozomi: What power. What auras! Honoka: Well, we may have lost on the water, but next is the mini-live show. Let's not lose to A-RISE there! Tsubasa: Hold up. Honoka: Hmm? Oh, Tsubasa. Tsubasa: Let the races be the end of the competition. For the mini-live show, let's go out and have a good time on stage together. Eli: Together, you say? Nico: I-I-I'm going to be on the same stage as A-RISE? Tsubasa: If the combined 12 members of µ's and A-RISE go out and perform together, it should be interesting to say the least. Anju: We'd love to have a chance to sing with µ's. What do you all think? Honoka: Count us in! Erena: That settles it. Eli: This show will be unlike anything we've done before. I'm sure the audience will be thrilled, too. Honoka: Yeah! Let's combine our talents and make this mini-show lots of fun for everybody! |
