Medley Festival Round 18 was a Medley Festival Event. It featured Dia Kurosawa and You Watanabe as the main rewards.
Event Rules[]
- Run a Medley Festival and receive Event Pts!
- Tap "START" on the Event Top Page.
- Select a Difficulty and the Number of Songs
- You must have enough LP to start. Your stamina is carried over from the 2nd song onwards.
- Songs of the same Attribute are automatically selected.
- Your team cannot be changed between songs.
- Customize your festival with Special Effects. G is required to purchase Special Effects.
- There are many to choose from! Selected Special Effects are valid for one Medley Festival round.
- Sometimes a friend or another academy student will come to cheer for you. Their support effects vary.
- If you are playing on harder difficulties, try the "Recovery" Special Effects to recover your stamina between songs.
- Event Pts you receive depend on the difficulty level and the number of songs selected. You will also receive bonus pts according to your Score, Rank, Special Effects, and Support.

| You: *Sigh* It’s kinda hot today. Huh? Dia, Kanan, what’re you two doing in the clubroom?
Dia: An urgent job came up for the student council. Kanan kindly offered to help me out. I’m sorry. We should be done soon. Riko: That’s quite a stack of papers on the desk. “How to Spend the Summer?” Did you make all of these, Dia? Dia: Yes. I based them off of last year’s copy, so it wasn’t too much effort. Kanan: But because we’re retyping everything from last year’s pamphlet, it needs to be thoroughly proofread. We tried to be careful, but there are a lot of typos. Kanan: Oh, here’s another one. Another page for you to work your magic on, Dia! Dia: I’m on it. The rest of these are already revised, so all that’s left is… Chika: These “How to Spend the Summer” pamphlets are the ones they pass out in the homeroom at the closing ceremony every year, right? The student council makes these? Kanan: Usually they reuse the same old templated, but the file was lost during that last power outage we had. Kanan: That’s why the school requested the student council make them from scratch this year. I’m helping out by reviewing Dia’s typing. Dia: Kanan has been a lifesaver. I made several mistakes because I typed it up in such a rush. You: Not to mention, they say it’s better to have someone else check your work. It’s easy to overlook things when you’re rereading the same thing you wrote. Mari: Oh, why don’t I help out too? We can go over everything even quicker and more efficiently with three pairs of eyes. Dia: Mari, weren’t you telling me how your work was piling up now that summer break is almost here? Plus your, err, unique style of editing is a bit… Yoshiko: Ohhhh, I know what you mean. Mari doesn’t really seem like the type to care about typos. She’s too easygoing. Mari: What’s wrong with that? As long as the point gets across, a misspelled word here and there is no problem. Dia: Bzzt-bzzt! Parents and guardians will be reading these pamphlets, not just students. I refuse to allow even a single mistake to slip by. Yoshiko: Meh, I don’t think you need to be that careful. I doubt anyone is even going to read these. Gah?! Hanamaru: Yoshiko, get a clue, zura. It’s rude to say something like that while Dia and Kanan are in the middle of working as hard as they can. Yoshiko: I-I’m just trying to say they can take it easy. There’s no reason to worry so much because no one’ll be too critical. And don’t call me Yoshiko!  Kanan: All right, that’s the last page! Dia, just incorporate this last revision and that’ll be it. Dia: Thank you so much. We’re finally finished. You were such a huge help, Kanan. Riko: Good work, Dia, Kanan. Oh, can I make you anything to drink? Dia: Thank you for the kind offer. I think I’ll take you up on that, actually. Could I have a warm cup of tea? Ruby: Oh, I’ll help, too. Just one sec, okay Dia? Dia: Thank you. Phew. I’m happy we were able to finish all of that work earlier than I had expected. Kanan: *Chuckle* If you had told me about it from the start, we would’ve finished even faster. You were gonna try to do it all alone before I caught you, weren’t you? Dia: The task was simply to retype last year’s pamphlets, so I didn’t think it would take so much time. It was a miscalculation on my part. Kanan: Dia, you’re always taking on too much by yourself. We’re all here for you! I wish you’d lean on us more. Dia: You’re absolutely right. I’ll keep that in mind next time. You: Hmm. Seeing this pamphlet cover reminds me of how summer’s almost here. I can’t wait to do summery stuff like swim in the ocean and go to a big fireworks show! Kanan: Not to mention, summer’s an important time of year for school idols. There will be events in every region, so we have to say prepared and keep up with practice! Ruby: Oh, yes! I wonder what kind of activities we’ll get to take part in this summer. Oh, Dia, the tea’s ready. Here you go. | Yoshiko: Pool Grand Opening Live Show?
Ruby: Does that mean performing while swimming? I’m not a very good swimmer, so I don’t think I could sing and dance at the same time. Kanan: Nah, no way the show is actually IN the pool. Look, it says “Perform on a special poolside stage.” Chika: Aww, that’s too bad. I thought we were gonna get to try our hands at synchronized swimming! Riko: *Chuckle* Silly Chika. By the way, Dia, where exactly is this pool? Dia: It’s at this water park in a neighboring prefecture. The e-mail says that they renovated the park recently, and that this event is also to unveil the new changes. Chika: Oh wait, I saw that place on TV the other day! They added some more attractions and really spruced things up! You: But, it seems kinda far from Uchiura. It’ll be pretty late by the time we get home after the show. Should we go for it anyways? Dia: Yes, I think we should try applying. It’ll be a great opportunity to expose more people to Aqours. Mari: I agree! We should apply and see what happens. Chika: *Laugh* A poolside live show sounds like a lotta fun! Should our costumes be swimsuits? Summery dresses could be nice, too. Riko: They said we can use the pool as much as we want until the live show. Should we take the opportunity to go for a swim and check it out? Yoshiko: Fabulous idea, little demon Lili! Incidentally, I must say, this pool full of waves, which draw near and then retreat, pulls at Yohane’s heartstrings. Ruby: Hey, Kanan. What’s that clear ball floating on top of the pool? Kanan: A water walking ball, I think? You can get inside it and walk on top of the water. It’d be hard to use in the ocean, but I bet it’s really fun in a pool. Ruby: Cool! I think I’d be okay in something like that. Yoshiko, Hanamaru, we should all play together in it! Yoshiko: Hmph. I can’t imagine anything duller than getting inside a big buoy and bobbing on the water’s surface! Yohane seeks the extraordinary amongst the ordinary! Hanamaru: Okay then, I guess it’ll just be you and me, Ruby. *Sigh* I was hoping the three of us could hang out. Too bad, zura. Yoshiko: I-I never said I wouldn’t go with you! But after that’s done with, we have to go to the wave pool, got it?! Dia: Err, everyone, I haven’t even applied yet. There’s no guarantee we’ll get to play at the water park. Chika: Oh, whoops. Sorry, sorry. So, how do we apply? Mari: It says to submit a group introduction, a promo video for one of our songs, and a profile for each member. You: Hmm. Wait a sec, there’s like, no time left until the deadline! If we don’t get everything done at top speed, we won’t make it. Dia: Don’t worry! I’ve already got member profiles and a promo video prepared that I can send. All we really need is an introduction about the group. Dia: Aqours is a school idol group made up of students from Uranohoshi Girls’ High School, a school on a small peninsula in Uchiura Bay. How does that sound? Dia: Since we’re applying for a water park event, I wanted to mention our proximity to the water. What do you think? Mari: *Chuckle* I feel like our determination really comes through in that lovely statement. I’m impressed, Dia! Let’s go with that. Kanan: Yeah, I think it sounds good, too. Also… Oh. You: What is it? Kanan: Well, this big organization actually made a reservation at the diving shop for the day after this event. Kanan: It’s a large group, so we need to start prepping the day before. Shoot, how am I gonna handle this? You: Oh, really? Is there any way you can make time for both events? Kanan: Let me see. If I start from the moment the event ends, I can take the bus, and… Yeah, as long as I leave right after the show is over, it should be fine. Dia: Okay, if you’re absolutely sure. But please, be honest and let us know of you have to bow out, all right? Kanan: *Laugh* Got it. I’ll make sure to talk to you if anything comes up. Dia: Good. You can always depend on me. | Dia: Everyone, I received a response about the pool grand opening live show.
Mari: Oh, already? What did they say? Dia: They chose us. We will be the ones performing at the live show. Chika: Really? *Laugh* Awesome! Hanamaru: A poolside love show sounds like so much fun, zura! Yoshiko, we’ve gotta play in the wave pool together. Yoshiko: H-Hmph! I suppose I could play with you, Zuramaru, if you insist. You: Hmm? Something wrong, Dia? Even though we were chosen, you don’t look very happy. Dia: Oh, err, it’s nothing to worry about. Dia: It’s just that they also asked if we’d be willing to help them promote an attraction after the show. Dia: They have a newly built wave pool where two people can bodyboard at once. Dia: They were hoping that Kanan and You could put on a bodyboard show to help promote it. You: Huh? They want me and Kanan to bodyboard? Riko: Bodyboarding’s like an easier version of surfing, right? Dia: Yes. It won’t be necessary to do any difficult tricks, but because they’ll be taking photos for ads, they’re hoping for a performance with some photo op moments. Hanamaru: In other words, they want to write an article with a title like, “School Idols Take on Bodyboarding!” Why did they specifically request you two, though? You: They probably saw that I was part of the swim team on my application profile. You put swimming under your special skills too, right Kanan? Kanan: yup! That makes sense. I guess that’s why they chose us. Kanan: I’m totally on board, of course. This will be my first time bodyboarding in a pool, but it sounds like fun! Ruby: B-But, this would be after the live show, right? You’re gonna end up getting home really late, Kanan. Kanan: Oh, that’s right. Hmm, what should I do? Dia: Don’t worry, Kanan. I’ll take your place in the bodyboarding show alongside You. Kanan: What?! Chika: Wh-Why you, Dia? Dia: Their email says, “Our first picks are Kanan and You, but if other members are interested, they are welcome to participate instead.” Dia: So there should be no issues with me taking her place. Kanan: Y-You don’t have to go out of your way to do that! I appreciate it, but I’m sure I can figure something out for the diving shop. Dia: No, Kanan. We knew from the start that you could only stay for the live show. I was the one who insisted on applying, so I should take full responsibility. Dia: Besides, while I’m nowhere near as good as you, I’m not too shabby when it comes to water sports. You can count on me! Ruby: But Dia, you’ve never bodyboarded before, have you? Dia: I once took beginner’s surfing lessons with Kanan. I’m not a complete and total amateur. Kanan: Yeah, but that was back when we were kids! And by the way, you never managed to catch a single wave. Dia: That was then and this is now! It’s been warmer lately, so I’ll be able to practice in the ocean. I’d like to brush up my skills and take on this challenge. Kanan: Okay. If you’re that determined, my spot is all yours, Dia. You: Then I’ll be your coach! | Riko: You and Dia haven’t been to the clubroom in a while. Which beach are they training at?
Chika: Hmm, You said it was the beach where she took surf lessons before, so I think it’s somewhere in this area. Yoshiko: Huh? Is that Dia and You over there? Look, in the shadows of that cliff. You: Dia, look forward and try to hold that position. If you worry about the motion of the water too much, you won’t be able to balance. Dia: O-Okay! Ack! Hanamaru: Dia! She got swallowed up by the waves, zura. Kanan: Hmm, I can see her potential, but I think she’s trying too hard to catch the wave, which means she’s putting too much force into her movements. Ruby: Poor Dia. You: Are you okay, Dia? Oh, it’s already been an hour. Wanna take a short break? Dia: *Pant* *Pant* No, just a little longer, please! I want to know what it feels like to keep my balance and ride a wave, at the very least. You: Okay, I understand! You get one more try, but then you have to take a break afterwards. Mari: *Giggle* No matter what she’s doing, Dia is so serious and hardworking. But at this rate… Kanan: Yeah. I think we’re worried about the same thing, Mari. Chika: Hmm? What’s wrong, Kanan? Is Dia doing something wrong? Kanan: Nah, her lessons seem to be going fine. Hey, Chika, girls, can you help me out with something real quick? Riko: Help you out? Dia: Phew. I think that was long enough. Now then! Back to our lesson! You: Umm, Dia, I can tell you’re worn out from all that practice. Why don’t you rest a little longer? Ruby: Dia! You: Huh? Ruby?! Everyone else is here as well. Why are you all dressed like that? Ruby: U-Umm. We were wondering if we could try and learn to bodyboard. Chika: Watching you practice made us wanna give it a go, too! Riko: Sorry to interrupt your practice, Dia. Can we use this part of the beach over here? Dia: Err, umm, of course you can. We only have this one board, though. Oh! Mari: We can all take turns then! Sharing is caring, right? Chika: Okay then, me first. Ready? Here I go! Dia: Ch-Chika?! How am I supposed to practice if everyone is using my board? Kanan: Easy, Dia, easy. There’s still plenty of time left in the day. Why don’t you just take a break for now? Dia: *Sigh* Fine then. I’m sorry, You. Is that all right? You: Of course! Smart thinking, Kanan. Dia has no choice but to rest now. Kanan: If we leave Dia to her own devices, she’ll keep going until she collapses from exhaustion. Kanan: Plus, I thought if she saw Chika and the others bodyboarding, she’d realize what she’s doing wrong. You: Yeah! Looking good! Try not to use too much force. Go with the flow of the water! Dia: U-Understood. Whoa, ack! Yoshiko: *Sigh* That was so close! She almost had it. Kanan: She’s definitely improved compared to when she first started, but she’s still not quite there. You: I think your timing’s a little off once you’re on the wave and maneuvering your board. Like, by the time you decide to go for it, it’s a half-second too late. Dia: I’m very sorry. Can I please try one more time? You: Hmm, I understand now you feel, but maybe we should call it quits for today? That water’s starting to get too cold anyway. Dia: *Sigh* If you say so. Can I borrow this bodyboard, Kanan? I’ll continue practicing at home. Ruby: Oh, Dia. Dia: It’s okay! I’ll work hard so that I can ride a wave before the pool event no matter what! You: *Sigh* |

| You: Diiiia. Wake up, Dia!
Dia: *Groan* Huh? Y-You? When did you come to the student council room?! You: I’ve been here for a while now. You didn’t come to the clubroom after school, and you weren’t in our classroom either, so I came looking for you. Dia: I-I see. I’m terribly sorry. How careless of me. You: You were sleeping really deeply. You’ve been practicing bodyboarding every day after school, so your fatigue must be building up. Dia: No, I feel fine. I’ll start getting ready, so can you head down to our usual spot on the beach? You: Umm. How about having our lesson in the pool today instead of the ocean? Dia: In the pool? You: I have an idea. Oh, Kanan already has a bodyboard ready for us, so all you have to do it change! Dia: O-Okay. Dia: I’m sorry to keep you waiting, You. What did you have in ming for today? You: Let me set everything up real quick. I’m gonna let the bodyguard float in the pool here. Okay, now try to get on. Dia: That’s today’s lesson? You: Yup! It seems like you’ve been paying too much attention to the movement of the water and forgetting to balance. You: I thought it’d be good for you to get a fresh start and feel what it’s like to just float around on the board. Dia: I see. They do say, when learning how to ride a bike, that you should feel what it’s like to coast forward before learning how to pedal. This is the same thing. Dia: All right then, I’ll give it a try. Okay, I’m on. You: Now just stare up at the sky. Clear your head, let go of all the tension in your body, and relax. Dia: This is nice. I didn’t realize floating in the water felt so good. You: It sure does! Floating in the water is the best. That’s why Chika and the girls were having so much fun bodyboarding the other day. Dia: Indeed. Even though they kept failing again and again, they were laughing a lot and enjoying themselves. You: Dia, you’ve been working hard so that Aqours can succeed no matter what. You: But what I want more than that is for you to enjoy your time playing in the water. Like Chika and the girls, you know? Dia: I realize how uncoordinated I am. But I’m the one who accepted this role, so I can’t allow myself to fail on the day of the event. You: If you mess up and fall, I’ll jump in the pool with you! All that matters is that afterwards, we show the audience how much fun bodyboarding is! You: If that makes everyone happy, that’d be the greatest success, right? So let’s fail as much as we want and have fun doing it. Dia: Have fun failing? You have an interesting way of thinking, You. *Chuckle* Ruby: Dia looks like she’s having fun. What a relief. Hanamaru: She seems a lot less anxious. I don’t think we have anything to worry about anymore, zura. Yoshiko: Geez. Even though she was the one saying all that stuff about it being okay not to succeed. Mari: Dia can accept other people’s mistakes, but she can’t accept her own. She takes everything so seriously. Chika: They’ve really worked hard for this, though. I hop their performance goes well. Kanan: I’m so disappointed I won’t be able to see the two of them giving it their all. Girls! | Chika: Ahhhh, all done! Great show, everyone!
Yoshiko: The little demons in the audience were having the time of their lives. The show was a complete and total success. There’s only one thing left now. Kanan: Hey, does anyone know what time it is? Hanamaru: There’s a clock on the wall over there, zura. Do you think you’ll make your bus home, Kanan? Kanan: Yeah, it looks like I still have time. Kanan: The train won’t be departing for a while anyway. But enough about me. Kanan: Are you sure you’ll be okay, Dia? That wave pool is faster than I thought it’d be. Dia: It’ll be no problem at all. Even if the waves are fast, they won’t be nearly as powerful as the waves in the ocean. You: *Laugh* Good point! Kanan: Hey, welcome! I saw your text about arriving home late last night. What went down after I left? Ruby: It was a lotta fun! We had time to kill before our bus left, so we played in the pool a little until it was time to go. Mari: They really revamped all their attractions. Everything was very shiny! Once summer break starts, we should visit again and take our time plating. Chika: Oh yeah! And Yoshiko took a video of You and Dia bodyboarding! Kanan: Whoa, can you show me now? Our last customers just left, so come on in and I’ll make us some tea. Chika: Sweet! Don’t mind if I do! Yoshiko: I’m glad the video camera I borrowed from You was waterproof. I had no idea the front rows would get so soaked. Okay, I’m gonna play it now. Kanan: Oh, it’s on, it’s on! Wow, you look great! You’re both riding those waves effortlessly. You’re perfectly in sync, too. You: Right? Right? Especially the part where we rise up! Dia: Hmm. Don’t you think my posture while riding the wave looks a bit off? Kanan: Really? It was the least I could do, right? Kanan: That reminds me, Dia, I’ve been meaning to ask you. Why’d you offer to take my place in the bodyboarding show? Dia: I was afraid that if no one spoke up, you and You would end up being the designated bodyboarders, as per the park’s request. Dia: You were already going out of your way trying to accept, even though it interfered with your work at your family’s diving shop. Dia: I thought that if I offered to be your replacement, it would solve all your issues, while also allowing me to repay you for your help with student council work. Kanan: *Chuckle* You’re right. I guess this time I was the one unconsciously trying to take too much on. You really saved me. Thanks again. Dia: Anytime. That being said, bodyboarding proved to be a more difficult challenge than I had expected. You looked incredible riding those waves yesterday, You. You: *Giggle* When it comes to any sports in or on the water, you can always count on me! Dia: By the way, it’s almost summer break. Have you planned out your summer homework schedule yet? You: Huh?! U-Umm, I’ve scheduled time for Aqours practice and playtime so far. You: My homework schedule is still kinda, umm, sorta… Or, I guess very… blank? Dia: I see. Then in order to repay you for teaching me how to bodyboard, I will help you with your homework. You: Eeeek! Dia: Don’t worry. I will take responsibility and stand guard over you until you’ve completed every last assignment! You: I-I don’t wanna be repaid like that! Dia: It’s all right, You!
